CHOPPER readily cuts filaments and strands less than 4mm in diameter. Sudden enlargening of the strand diameter may slip.
Incorrect setting of the knife clearance, especially when set too close, will result in : Rotating Cutter damage/wear, or Motor stalling. This does not effectively ‘break’ the device.
The CHOPPER Kit provided by Metafuse includes a used SCMT Carbide Cutter, which does not affect performance but lowers cost.
Users/Builders MUST print and/or install the ‘Cover’. The rotating cutter is sharp and will hurt you when touched during chopping.
Due to the open source nature, Metafuse is not responsible for harm caused by operating CHOPPER outside recommended practices.
Although belt-driven, operating CHOPPER can still be loud or disruptive to hearing due to the ‘clapping’ sounds made when filaments are cut, in addition to motor noise.
