TECHNICAL NOTES
- CHOPPER readily cuts filaments and strands less than 4mm in diameter. Sudden enlargening of the strand diameter may slip.
- Incorrect setting of the knife clearance, especially when set too close, will result in : Rotating Cutter damage/wear, or Motor stalling. This does not effectively ‘break’ the device.
- The CHOPPER Kit provided by Metafuse includes a used SCMT Carbide Cutter, which does not affect performance but lowers cost.
- Users/Builders MUST print and/or install the ‘Cover’. The rotating cutter is sharp and will hurt you when touched during chopping.
- Due to the open source nature, Metafuse is not responsible for harm caused by operating CHOPPER outside recommended practices.
- Although belt-driven, operating CHOPPER can still be loud or disruptive to hearing due to the ‘clapping’ sounds made when filaments are cut, in addition to motor noise.
